About these neckerchiefs
The first three neckerchiefs shown above were handmade for Pamrapaugh Lodge #14 in the early 1950s, possibly earlier. The colors of the neckerchiefs coincide with the first two Lodge 14 patches, color scheme red on gray. Generic handmade neckerchiefs of this type were issued to Ordeal, Brotherhood, and Vigil Honor members accordingly. The color and thickness of the piping indicated the scout’s membership level. Reportedly, the Ordeal neckerchief piping was thin gray. Brotherhood was thin green, and Vigil Honor was thick gray.

It is known that one such neckerchief was owned by Bayonne’s Joe Gable, a Troop 19 leader who was inducted into the Order of the Arrow in the early 1950s. Joe later served in the US Army as a Paratrooper in the 11th Airborne during the Korean War era.

The International Scout Collectors Association (ISCA) website has a listing of all Lodge 14 flaps, patches, and neckerchiefs. PatchVault Pamrapaugh 14
