The Camp Lewis Softball Team was a thinly veiled secret society of selected staff members internally known as the Night Riders. They were best known to the campers for their gray hoodies with large red numbers that they often wore during parade grounds gatherings. New members were chosen through an election process by current on-staff members and they were initiated onto the softball team by way of an elaborate late night ceremony that remains today a secret ritual among its members.
